New Subscription Box Alert! Blue Apron - Healthy Meal Ingredient Subscription Service!

New Subscription Box Alert! Blue Apron - Healthy Meal Ingredient Subscription Service!

Blue Apron is a new subscription service that takes care of your meal planning 3 nights a week. I usually have great cooking ambitions at the beginning of the week, but by the time Wednesday rolls around I'm usually picking up Chipotle after work or heating up an Annie's frozen dinner! Needless to say, Blue Apron sounds very appealing to me!

Because the food is fresh, the areas they ship to are currently limited to this map:

More from Blue Apron:
"Blue Apron is a new concept in grocery delivery, built around incredible cooking experiences.  We offer a once-a-week subscription service where we deliver all the fresh ingredients you need to make 3 meals, in exactly the right proportions.  We’ve designed our service to teach you fun new recipes, save prep time and also reduce unnecessary waste.  By letting us shop for you, we can bring you fresher and higher-quality food than you can get on your own in the supermarket, and for better prices!"
The service is $9.99 a meal per person, so a week with 3 meals for two people would be $60 a week.

What do you think of food services like this one? Will you sign up?

  1. If they could include someone to cook the meals too, that would be great ;)

  2. I have a service similar to this in my large metro city area, but they have an online menu and deliver fresh, refrigerated single serving meals to " indie" type grocers and restaurants for customers to pick up. They WILL deliver, for about $100 a week more, and actually started out as a delivery service until the price of transporting to home addresses became prohibitive for most people.

I LOVE the fully cooked meals from the service available to me with selections which range from Kosher or vegan, to seafood and meat entrees and offers a huge menu selection for sll 3 meals, side orders, and snacks, but would never ever consider a bag full of uncooked stuff. I don't find any joy in cooking. I'll pay extra for the area's chef- prepared home meals that are always A+++ in quality and variety. :) JMO..

It would make it so much easier...i have 3 kiddos and its hard with a crazy schedule to plan meals and i too have great ambition but by the time dinner rolls around...i am exhausted and this would help so much...
